The area high schools which ranked highest in the report were Oak Ridge High School (#6), Farragut High School (#8), and Hardin Valley Academy (#12). These high schools also ranked nationally at the following levels: Oak Ridge High School (#894), Farragut High School (#980) and Hardin Valley Academy (#1266).
According to the report, “Tennessee, which has flexibility from No Child Left Behind mandates, assesses high school students through tests in each level of English and algebra, and in geometry, biology, chemistry, physics and U.S. history. To graduate, Tennessee high schools students must earn 22 credits in various subjects, including two credits in a foreign language, according to the Tennessee Department of Education.”
